Nachiyar Koil Lamps are handicraft products made by Pathers (Kammalars) in Nachiyar Koil in Tamil Nadu, India. These lamps are hollow casts, which are made in four parts and screwed together. On 8 February 2010, it was registered as “Nachiarkoil Kuthuvilakku (lamp)" under the Geographical Indications Act 1999 of the Government of India.
The lamp has four parts – (1) base (keezhbagam) (2) stem (kandam), (3) oil container (Thanguli) (4) Prabhai which come in various designs.
The four or five separate parts are made which form the base design. They are then assembled to make up the lamp.
